Author MDAC 2.6 upgrade causing problems with Trusted Connections to 6.5

We are mid-way through testing migration from 6.5 to SQL 2000 and as
part of this testing I installed the SQL 2000 client tools on my NT
workstation machine which duly updated my MDAC version to 2.6. I'm now
having problems making ODBC connections to our existing SQL 6.5 box.

When I try to connect using a NT authentication (which worked fine
before MDAC 2.6 was installed I get this error "User not associated with
trusted SQL server connection". The only way I can connect is to do SQL
authentication which is a real pain as all our apps use a named DSN
which uses NT authentication. I can still connect directly to the 6.5
box using the 6.5 Enterprise Manager so the problem seems to be ODBC
specific.

Can anyone tell me how to get around this problem.

Julia
