Win 2000/SQL 2000 Admin ..

SQL Gurus,

Is there a way to send notification (net sends or emails
from the Win 2000 or SQL Server) when the Win 2000 box
and/or the SQL Server service (and/or AGENT) is shutdown.
For some reason the SQL Alerts for SQL SErver shutdown
notifications are not fired and I also want to be notified
when the Win 2000 box is restarted for some reason.

Please Please advice.
