| Has anyone ever actually solved this problem(see post title) when it
pops up trying to register a server in enterprise manager under
windows 2000? I've deleted the exception entries in the registry and
reinstalled the mdac(multiple times), replaced the sqlsvr32.dll and
the oodbc.dll (the spelling of those dll's may be off but you get the
drift), installed service pack 3, turned off windows file
protection, turned on windows file protection, unregistered and
registered various permutations of the dll's in question and ran the
comcheck. I've seen this problem posted many times but apparantly
there is no solution, is that actually the case?

| I ran into this on XP, and I couldn't get it to work until SP1. But, that
doesn't help you. I'd try installing the latest version of MDAC to see if
that helps.
