Can somone explain how an ODBC driver works to connect to
server

Is my understanding Correct

Application (SQL Server) talks to ODBC driver (Oracle ODBC)
ODBC Driver talks to Client Software (Oracle client)
Client Software talks to Server Software (Oracle Server)
