SQL Server 7.0 and Windows 2k professional

| Hi,
I am trying to install SQL Server 7.0 database server on
windows 2k professional. Can I do this? When I try to
install it says I can install only client tools. I need a
database instance running on my machine for a demo I am
working on.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
--Sujan.

| Sujan,
The hardware and software requirements to install SQL Server 7.0 are
outlined in section "Hardware and Software Requirements for Installing SQL
Server" in the SQL Server 7.0 Books Online.
As outlined in the documentation, to install either the enterprise or
standard edition of SQL Server 7.0 requires a server operating system.

Please reply only to the newsgroups.
When posting, inclusion of SQL (CREATE TABLE ..., INSERT ..., etc.) which
can be cut and pasted into Query Analyzer is appreciated.

| You will only be able to install the Desktop Edition but not the Standard
Edition. The Desktop Edition will still enable you to run a database but
with limited features compared to the standard edition.
