Seagate for SQL serial? I have the invoice!

| Yeah I know I'm looking to get flamed or ignored. What the hell, it's worth
a shot.
I have a licensed copy of Seagate Backup Exec Agent for MSSQL, NT v7.3.
Invoice, box, everything. It was here on the shelf along with the Exchange
and Server when I came to this company. The other two have the serial, not
this one. Veritas won't talk to me, says to buy 8.6.
Is this a hopeless case? I can't use this because I need to backup the sql
server. I can't buy a 8.6 agent because it's not backward compatible. My
other option is to buy a full setup of 8.6, which is $1,500. I'd really like
to talk to the guy who I replaced....

| Why not just get SQL to backup to disk, and then get BackupExec to stream
from that.
Even if you're short of disk space, a new drive is going to be much cheaper
than a BackupExec Licence.
