Need to click other outlook folder to refresh for new e-mails
|
|
|
| Hi!
Is there a way to automatically update the inbox (Outlook
2000) if there's new e-mail?
The problem is that if there's new e-mail or if you want
to check for new e-mails, you need to click on other
outlook folder for the inbox to refresh and show/check
new e-mails.
Thanks!

| Something (router?) between you and the Exchange server is blocking UDP
packets. How are you connected?

| There is a switch between the WS and the server. They're
actually on a different network.

| If they're on different networks, there's either a router or there's VLANs
on the switch. Talk to whomever configured it. Or get used to clicking on
other folders <g>.

| Yes we do have VLAN's and i am the oine configured it. Do
you mean it's a normal behavior since we have VLAN's
setup?
Thanks!

| Something inbetween your clients and exchange server is blocking UDP
traffic.
If you are using Outlook XP there is a simple registry patch that will cause
Outlook to poll automatically every 1 minute.
Throw this into a .REG file and merge it into each clients registry - you'll
have to reboot for it to take effect.
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Mi
crosoft\Office\10.0\Outlook\RPC]
"ForcePolling"=dword:00000001
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Po
licies\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Outlook\RPC]
"ForcePolling"=dword:00000001

| Hi I'm having the same issue under Outlook98 and was wondering if there was a similar reg hack to get polling working for 98? Thanks |
