Unable to create mailboxes in multiple domains

| I can create mailboxes in the first domain (root domain), but not in any
other domains in the same tree. The AD U/Comp states creating the mailbox
was successful, however, I cannot attach to the mailbox from any client;
http, pop, imap, mapi. I can send mail to the box without an NDR. I see
none of these problems with the first domain. In addition, the first domain
AD U/Comp is the only domain that gives the screen to create a mailbox when
creating a new user. I have determined, using ADSI Edit, that all accounts
have the correct attributes for Exchange. The event viewer does report the
following errors:
Failed to read attribute msExchUserAccountControl from Active Directory for
/O=afsvs/OU=randolph/cn=Recipients/cn=jennselle.
Logon Failure on database "First Storage Group\Mailbox Store (ZAPPA)" -
Windows 2000 account YOUTH-TRC\Administrator; mailbox
/O=AFSVS/OU=RANDOLPH/CN=RECIPIENTS/CN=ADMINISTRATOR.
Error: -2147467259
Failed to read attribute msExchUserAccountControl from Active Directory for
/O=afsvs/OU=randolph/cn=Recipients/cn=Administrator19494241.
Short of reinstalling Exchange from the ground to include deleting it from
AD, is there another fix?
Appreciate any help.

| Does an email address get created on the Email Addresses tab of the AD
users/computers tool ?
If not then you won't be able to conect to or use the mailbox.
Make sure you have a Recipient Update Service object for the "other" domain,
one RUS per domain controller. With this RUS in place, right click and do a
rebuild on the RUS for the "other" domain.
ADSIEdit will also tell you if the mailbox attributes are being added to the
AD object, look for the showinaddressbook attribute on the user object
Good luck
