OWA 5.5 and Exchange2k

| In the process of an Ex5.5 migration to EX2k
We use OWA 5.5 on NT4.0, and I've been told it will work fine with EX2k.
Until I can get all the users migrated and turn on my Ex2k Front-end server
to replace the existing OWA5.5.
If this is true, then what about those static ports I assigned my EX5.5
boxes so that they would only communicate on as explained in:

Now I can't find any mention of setting the static ports on Exchange2000
and how does it use active directory?
Please help!

I blew the 250 to call microsoft and received this:
q270836
It's actually best to use ports above 5000... I've run into a couple minor
problems, requiring a reboot using 1225 and 1226
