Author adding a removed server back in to an exchange site

Hi everyone,
Ok I have been trying to do the disaster recovery thing with a recover
server, where I have been trying to import/recover the pub.edb/pub.stm
from a server which I had removed from my production site.

My question is could I re-install exchange on this removed server with
the /disasterrecovery switch. Will this recover the data in the public
folders that was hosted on that machine.

Thanks in advance.

The disaster recovery switch is for restoring Exchange 2000 server into
the server without writing any additional data into the Directory.
(The data is already there).
After using the disaster recovery switch you still need to restore the
old database from backup.
This switch only works when restoring Exchange to the same Active Directory
forest that it was installed previously and with the same server name.
If you are resorting the server to another AD forest this switch will not
work
and you will need to perform alternate server restore.

Doing the /disaster recover install will bring the server back into
the mix without giving the schema grief. You may then restore the
databases you need restored.

Does this apply to a server that has been removed from the Exchange site?

If you have removed the server from the organization you will not
be able to use the recovery switch ,unless you restore the old Directory.
