| Nope. The IS is not starting. Here are some app logs:
System Attendant Service failed to create session for
virtual machine EXCHANGE2000. The error number is
0xc1041721
The MAD Monitoring thread was unable to read its
configuration from the DS, error '0x80004005
Unable to initialize the Microsoft Exchange Information
Store service. Error 0x80004005.
Process MAD.EXE (PID=1408). All Global Catalog Servers in
use are not responding:
DENHQ001.schryvermedical.com
A fatal error occurred reading a value from the directory.
No MTA name was found. Contact Microsoft Technical
Support. [MTA MAIN BASE 1 12] (16)
There is not enough Performance Monitor memory to display
the MTA Connections information. Stop attached
Performance Monitors and re-start the MTA. [BASE MAIN BASE
1] (14)
Error 0x80004005 connecting to the Microsoft Active
Directory.
Unable to initialize the Microsoft Exchange Information
Store service. Error 0x80004005.
These are the main ones. Strange, but I beleive fixable.
My Senior tech is attempting to install SP3 right now to
get the drive mapping back for M, but I think it is more
than just getting M back. What do you think?
Thank again

| You may want to check DNS.
You can verify that DNS is working normally by installing the Windows 2000
Support Tools from the Windows 2000 CD. Then from a command line, do:
NETDIAG /V > NETDIAG.TXT. Then check for any DNS failures.
Specifically, make sure that the Exchange server's TCP/IP properties does
not have any external DNS servers defined (like from your internet service
provider).

| You may want to try goint into the exchange folder then
into the MDBDATA folder there if you find a shed load of
logs erase them they are usually around 5MB each. Do this
and restart your computer this should bring back the M:
drive as this happend to us not so long ago. ThanX

Before you ever delete a log file, I would *STRONGLY* recommend calling
in for support. Manually removing log files are generally a last resort
efford.
In this instance, it appears that even the System Attendant is having
issues which means the Information Store may be fine but the problem
could like further down within the Exchange system.
