Author NNTP problem

Have moved recently to Exchange 2000 server. NNTP worked fine for a while,
but after something has changed newsgroup articles stopped arriving. I have
looked at NNTP virtual server to make sure that the virtual directory points
to Public Folders\Internet Newsgroups and it does. After I hit 'Apply' to
confirm that the content should come from this public folder I get the
following errors in Event Log:

System Log
Event ID: 101
Source: NNTPSVC
The server was unable to add the virtual root '' for the directory
'/Internet Newsgroups' due to the following error: The parameter is
incorrect. The data is the error code.

Any ideas what the problem could be? I can see Exchange connect to the news
provider, the hierarchies for new newsgroups are created in Public Folders,
but everything is EMPTY!

Please advise!
