Author Global Address List settings

With Exchange 5 or 2000, is it possible to remove/delete
user names from the global address list but still have
them be active accounts? Will they continue to
synchronize back to the global address list or is there a
setting that will prevent them from re-syncing?

I want to be able to keep some accounts active for a 60-
90 day period but not show up in the global address
list.

You can hide them from the GAL, in Exchange 2000, go into Active Directory
Users and Computers (make sure the Advanced Features is enabled from the
View menu), open the user account you want to hide, go to the Exchange
Advanced tab and you will see a checkbox to hide them from the GAL.
