DNS question... (New Boy...)

| Hi
We have an Exchange 2000 up and running...., and we can send a receive emails with out problem....
My problem is that we are getting some emails bounced back because the remote site is using reverse DNS lookup...
For instance, I think my emails go out with username@mydomain.co.uk but what they are really going out with is username@mailserver.localdomain.mydomain.co.uk, the remote site does a reverse DNS lookup and finds that this "mailserver.localdomain.mydomain.co.uk" doesn't exist so I get bounced....
Not really sure what to change in Exchange to get this working.... Would I need to register the "local domain name" with our ISP...?
Thank in advance....

| Yes, you will need to register a DNS reverse lookup record for your domain but this has its caveats. As you have experienced first hand, a lot of email will be rejected by doing this.
