Author PF Retention Limits Not Doing Their Job

On my E2K SP2 server, I have a child Public Folder and I unchecked the "Use
Public Store Defaults" for Deletion Settings and Age Limits. I did so a
long time ago (about 2 months now). Both are set for 30 days. My problem
is I still see items that are older than 30 days in the folder. Actually I
see every item since the folder was "born". What am I missing???
