Author Permissions on public folders

I find it hard to believe that i cant set permissions on
public folders, nevertheless i have been unsuccesfull in
finding anywhere to set these, on DC on exchange or
through client,
Anyone ?

Through System Manager you can set permissions. Right click the folder,
properties, permissions

If you're the owner, you can set permissions in Outlook. If you aren't the
owner, you can set them in System Manager - browse through the list til you
see public folders.
