I know this question has been asked before, but here goes. How do I stop
relaying in Microsoft exchange 2000? I found this article, did everything
verbatim and I can still rely. Is it missing something? I am running
Microsoft's small-business server 2000 with all of the latest patches and
service packs.

Terry,

By default, relaying is automagically turned off in Exchange 2K. In SBS2000,
you can take it a step further by setting up ISA rules to deny incoming mail
from certain hosts, etc.

How are you testing to see if you are, in fact, relaying email? Are you sure
you're not authenticating with the server (authenticated users may relay)?
Is this what you're looking to stop?

Good luck,

Thomas Cameron

Tom
Trying to stop others from relaying. Here is a telnet to port 25. Is
this a
telling me that this box is relaying? I used my address below, and got
the email. I don't have an email accout / account on the exchange box.
Any idea?
