Public Folders Question

| Steven Brummer 2002-10-05, 8:44 pm |
| I'm having a problem with public folders being accessible from users on our
clustered exchange servers. I have set up replicas to these servers but they
don't replicate. I've turned up the diagnostic logging, and it shows no
errors. Zilch! If I instruct the mailbox stores on the clustered machines to
use a public folder store on a non-clustered machine, users can see the
PF's.
Public folders show up fine on the non-clustered machines. Anyone out there
seen this before? Have any idea what might be going on?
Any help is greatly appreciated,
Steve

| Neil,
No, they don't. I forgot to state that earlier, sorry for that. Just to
restate, I have added these servers in the replicas section of the public
folder and waited through many replication cycles. No errors show up in the
event logs.

| Hmmm...if the hierarchy doesn't show up, it's probably more of a fundamental
problem. The hierarchy should show up by default, which I gather is
performed by the store.exe processes emailing each other.
One thing that has prevented the hierarchy appearing for me at one
installation was due to the fact that the RUS hadn't stamped the public
stores with an email address, ensuring that the stores couldn't mail each
other. Check that this has happened first.

| Neil,
First of all, thanks for sticking it out with me. <grin>
I tried to find if the public STORES had email addresses and didn't see a
section that would show an email address. All the public folders have unique
email addresses, but I don't think the stores can/have email addresses.
Forgive me if I'm mistaken here. If so, can you tell me where to find this
info?

| I've used ADSIEdit to drill down to the store properties. The attribute in
question is 'proxyAddresses'.

| Just to let you know.
I used ADSIedit, the public folders have email addresses. I'm just gonna
have to burn a support incident with MS and get this working.
Thanks again for your help,
Steve
