Hi,
We have Exchange 2000 server, with service pack 1
installed. The Exchange log files, under the
directoy, "c:\Program files\Exchsrvr\MDBDATA" is eating up
the disk space. Each log file is about 5MB of size. In one
of the articles it has been mentioned that these are
Exchange Transaction Log files and will be used for
Recovery purpose. It was also mentioned, not to delete
these log files manually. Then how to delete these log
files? Kinldy mention the sequence (if any) for deleting
these log files.

Thanx in Advance.

Regards,
Karthik

The Exchange server logs are used for recovery ,
it is not recommended to delete those logs manually.
The logs files are deleted automatically when you back the
Exchange Information store with an online backup program.

If the data that filling up your disks are log files then run online backup
that should clear those logs.

If the log files are not deleted ,verify that you are using the Exchange
agent
When you use Exchange agent you will have the ability to backup the
Exchange Information Store databases and storage groups.

Do not backup the Exchsrvr folder nor any Exchange files you can harm the
database. ( and Do not backup drive M: )

After the full backup all logs will be deleted

If you do not have any Exchange backup agent use NTBACKUP to
backup the Exchange , the log files will be deleted While the
backup is running the server still operational.
