Author Duplicate SMTP E-Mail Sent ??!!!

Hi all..
I am hoping that someone else may have experienced this weird issue and
possibly have a fix for me...
The problem happens in Exchange 5.5 environment. Intermittently any internet
e-mail sent out to users outside our org receive two copies of the e-mail.
One copy contains the actual message while the other has everything except
for the body of the e-mail.
I did some forensics and found out that the message missing the body did NOT
have a message-id field in its header. I understand that message-id is put
my the MTA as it leaves the site and goes over to the hub site with IMS
running.
The firewall logs do not show duplicate relays. Our antivirus logs do not
suggest that either.
Interestingly this problem is not easy to be duplicated. It happens
randomly.

The message with the empty body also seem to have L-H-S Loop-Check in the
header while the other e-mail that is received intact doesn't have this.

Any ideas...
