Author Backing Up MS Exchange Server 2000 with ARCserve

We have ARCserve 2000 running on a server (say fileserver), and on another
server (say mailserver) we have Exchange 2000 running.

Now ARCserve has been happily backuping up the data on fileserver and the
Exchange server on mailserver for the last few months.

However, for the last few days I've noticed that the backup jobs have been
returning as being Failed. Looking at the job log I can see its coming up
with errors when trying to backup the exchange server.

If I go to modify the job, and then under backup source unselect and then
re-select the "Microsoft Exchange Server" under "My Computer (FILESERVER)"
it comes up with the following error:

Backup Agent Error -- (91) "License has been terminated".

Looking on the mailserver I can see that we've got the Microsoft Exchange
ARCserve Backup Agent running.

Anyone got any ideas what the problem may be?

I'm unaware of any changes being made to either server leading up to the
failure.

Thanks for any help you can give me

Phil

Have you tried running the Regit program by CA to re-register the backup
agent?

It's usually in C:\CALIC or something like it, as I recall...

The license file for ARCserve 2000 is located on the local machine
c:\ca_lic and in the file called ca.olf. You can open it with notepad
and take a look. You can also cut and paste the license information
there for it to work again.
