| Problem: I want to set one default size limit for
individual incoming & outgoing message sizes, but allow
select individuals to exceed that limit. Exch 2000 does
not seem to allow that.
In System Manager (Global Settings, Message Delivery), you
can set default limits for the size of incoming & outgoing
messages. However, you are SUPPOSED to be able to override
these settings in the mailbox user's active directory
attributes (Exchange General, Delivery Restrictions). The
Microsoft literature on this topic is clear. (SMTP
Connector / Virt Srvr restrictions can also be set, but
for my purpose I've left these unimplimented)
I set my default Global Message Delivery limits to 2048 KB
(2MB) each. I set my user profile to 100,000 KB (100MB). I
now send a 3MB file and am sent a nondelivery report,
despite what should be my over-riding personal settings. I
change the Global Message Delivery limit to 4096 KB(4MB,
resend, and the 3MB file goes through! This seems to
indicate that the individual mailbox limits do NOT over-
ride the global defaults. Can anyone else think of another
explanation for this problem?
