Author Help!! Catastrophic error adjusting mailbox rights!

Up until SP3, my security administrators (who are account
operators only) could create mailboxes and adjust
permissions on the associated external account. However,
after the Exchange admins put on SP3, when we go to
associate an external account and modify the Exchange
permissions, we get the classic "catastrophic error"
listed in Q312612. That tells me we haven't been granted
the appropriate rights to the mailstores or those
permissions were somehow modified during the SP3 install.

Has anyone seen this before and if so, how did you fix it?
