| Now I'm really stuck. Exchange services won't start. The installer refuses
to install and there doesn't seem to be any option to uninstall either. (I
guess this business about requiring a product to provide an uninstall in
order to acheive MS certification doesn't apply to their own products.)
Any ideas?

| Yes, I saw that. It seemed easier, safer and cleaner to reinstall the entire
box. so that's what I did. I had everything backed up to an Outlook pst file
so I scratched the box, reinstalled Win2K, then Exchange2K and then used
Outlook to copy data from the pst file back into Exchange.
Given the relative fragility of the Exchange family of products (I've had
more trouble with Exchange over the years than with any other BackOffice
product) I urge administrators to keep Exchange on its own dedicated box.
