| Hello,
This issue may occur under one or more of the following conditions:
a.. The World Wide Web Publishing Service (W3SVC) is stopped on the
Instant Messaging home server or Instant Messaging router.
b.. The properties of the Instant Messaging virtual server are configured
incorrectly.
c.. You are using a firewall or proxy server.
Please refer to "XCCC: Troubleshooting Authentication Failures in Instant
Messaging" at
http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...b;en-us;q278974 for details.
Also, this issue may occur if you have enabled the Require secure channel
(SSL) option on the Instant Messaging virtual directory in Microsoft
Internet Information Service (IIS). Please refer to
http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...b;en-us;q317339 for details.
It also may occur if the Instant Messenger virtual server is incorrectly
named with the NetBIOS name of the server instead of the Fully Qualified
Domain Name (FQDN) of the server. Please refer to
http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...b;en-us;Q316654 for details.
