Hi :-)

Just like to check what exactly is stored in the Exchange
MDBDATA folder and is it safe to delete the logfiles in
there like E0003E1E.log n so on so forth..

Thanks in advance

No, do not ever delete these log files. In the event that the store
dismounts or you need to restore a database, these logs are applied to
store. They are a running up to the minuet transaction history for your
mail server. These logs should be automatically purged during your
information store backup.

Had a similar problem myself. Found that:

1. You're not sucessfully backing your your information store; and/or

2. Your information store is currupted. Run eseutil (fixed my problem)

Hope this helps

Michael.
