| I have an Active Directory/Exchange 2000 user who is
getting married.
The name change results in a network ID change.
We want the new username to receive email from the old
email address, as well as the new, as well as keeping the
old mailbox store as the new.
how do I do this? thanks.

| Change the network ID to the new alias the user will have, this will give
that user his/her new email address. At the same time go to AD users and
computers and go to the email addresses tab and add his/her old email
address as the secondary SMTP address.
Let me know if that works! Thanks.

| I already found a resolution...
I used the "Active Directory Cleanup Wizard" to merge the
old account into the new account.
They key is - make sure the new account is NOT mailbox-
enabled, or it won't work.
after doing so, run Recipient Update Service - and Voila!
the new account has the old mailbox store. I added the old
email address as a secondary SMTP email addy to preserve
the old address temporarily.
Thanks for your input though.
