Why isn't SMTP mail going out?
|
|
|
| Is there any way to check why internet mail is not going out? We have a
number of emails to AOL that are stuck in the outbound que (as seen when
checked under Protocols/SMTP in the administrator). I tell it to force a
connection and reenumerate etc, but it just sits there. Is there any way to
see WHY it's sitting there? I mean, is it not trying to go out? Is it not
getting the MX record/resolving the IP? Is it not getting to that IP once
resolved?
Anyway, I'm not sure where to find this out. Any assistance is much
appreciated!

| Hi,
If you right-click on the domain in the Queues folder and select Properties,
down towards the bottom of the Properties dialog it will show you the
specific reason that it could not deliver the mail.
Hope this helps.
