We had someone send a EXE file the other day. I am wondering if there
is a way to block this from happening in Exchange. It gets blocked by
outlook, but this is a function of outlook. This leaves the file for
OWA users to download, since it wouldn't be blocked by Exchnage.

Norton Antivirus scans for this file type but will not block it or
remove it.

Also, according to Outlook's help, type 1 and 2 files can be changed
by Exchange admin but I cannot find it referenced in any Exchange
docs.

Any thoughts,

Rob

most anti-virus packages allow you to block by file extension...

Well the version we had did not seem to offer this. Upgrading to the
newest version of Antivirus which does block extensions.

Still I would have thought this would have been a function within
Exchange.
