Ive got a customer whos Exchange 2000 server is dead. Weve reinstalled
Exchange from scratch (no data), bought it back up, But (and this has
happened to me before)........

Anyone who had a mailbox before the server died now cant be right mouse
clicked within the AD and a new mailbox be installed via Exchnage tasks. The
only option there is add instant messaging

Any user that didnt have a mailbox, or any new users add are ok. Ive
searched the AD with ADSIEDIT but I cant see anything else I can drop out.

Theres to many users to drop and start again.

Any ideas?

Cheers
Tim

Have you tried mbconn it's on the E2K SP 2 cd, or on the e2k sp 2 download,
in the \server\support\utils\i386 folder.

Thanks
Rob

Just spent the whole day trying to fix a similar problem. Eventually got it
working by sending a test email to everyone on my network. This recreated a
mailbox for each user (800). and I was able to go on from there. This was
with Exchange 2k and srp3. A complete rebuild after the machine with
Exchange 2000 server died.
