| I already posted this help request regarding the follow problem, but I
didn't resolve it:
Event Type: Error
Event Source: MSExchangeSA
Event Category: General
Event ID: 5007
Date: 13/09/2002
Time: 9.13.10
User: N/A
Computer: W2KMXSRV01
Description:
An error occurred during the message tracking decode operation.
Function:ScSaveGatewayTracking
DataEx . <<0x80070005 - Access denied.>>
For more information, click http://www.microsoft.com/contentredirect.asp.
I have Win 2000 SP3 A.S. and Exchange 2000 Sp3, after Exchange Sp3
installation I received this error on EventViewer; I read the Exchange SP3
Release notes regarding Message Tracking but I have always the problem.
I tried to move the directory to another new one but I have always the same
message.
Please can you help me because I need message tracking option running on my
server.
Thank you very much.

Hmm...guess a call to PSS is in order. I'll see what else I can dig up in
the meantime.

I resolved the problem, first of all I had to reset the permissions on the
"Program Files" directory (included the server.log directory) like the
follow instructions:
The Program Files directory should have the following permissions:
Administrators
Full Control
Authenticated Users
Read & Execute
List Folder Contents
Read
Creator Owner
Full Control on subfolders and files -- not THIS FOLDER
Server Operators
All boxes under allow checked EXCEPT Full Control
SYSTEM
All Allow boxes checked.
The second I had to reset all Exchange Services user to Local System user,
stopped and re-started all services; then I re-checked the Traking message
option again.
I hope help someone
Bye.
