M: drive permissions...
|
|
|
| We just switched over to a new exchange server, and I
think I have all the bugs worked out now. However... as
the total admin of the system, I used to be able to open
anyones mailbox through outlook or alternately go through
the M: drive and open their folder. I used this
frequently to help them when they got suspicious e-mails
(viruses, spammers, scams, etc...) that they wanted me to
look at.
Now with the new server, I get access denied on the M:
folders, and if I try through outlook I usually
get "Unable to display the folder. The Inbox folder could
not be found."
I have looked all over for where to change the permissions
to fix this, and have added my administrator account with
full permissions directly to the user object in active
directory users and computers.
Anyone have an idea what else I need to do?

| To add to the other reply - "Do not touch the M drive. Don't AV scan it,
don't back it up, don't change permissions in it".

| Create a user then only make them an member of the Exchange Domain group.
This group has rights to all mail boxes, Domain Administrator group users
are blocked with a Deny by default.
Good Luck
