Author importing distribution lists

Does anyone know of a way or an article that allows one to import a set of
external email addresses into a distribution list and then make that group
available in the active directory/GAL?

The only articles I can find have been related to how to import individual
contacts. I have about 100 external email addresses I need to import. You
used to be able to do this Exchange 5.5, but I cant see a way of doing this
in Exchange 2000.

Thanks in advance for any help provided.
