2 Exchange Servers in one Admin Group
|

| Hello
Situation is:
I have Exchange 2000 / Win2k Server SP3
Company bought another server (cluster), now the mission is to move all
mailboxes to the new server.
What is the way to do this (if possible) and users wont feel they are moved
to another email server?
Clients are Outlook, when abroad they connect "offline" and use VPN
Thank you

Add the cluster to the existing admin group. Move the users to the new
server.

This is what I did, but
(1) when using Outlook Web Access from outside, it try to locate
"nameofcluster.company.com" instead of "owa.company.com" , where
"owa.company.com" is URL for OWA.
(2) If I connect to oldserver (oldserver is a server previously used to
work with mail) by port 110, it tell me "there is not such mailbox".
(3) If I connect to oldserver by Outlook, it tell me "Unable to dislpay the
content"
Thank you

Are you using a front-end server?
XCCC: "HTTP 404" Error Appears When You Try to Log On to OWA Through a
Front-End Server in a Cluster Q312422

That's correct. you've moved the mailox, and the old server isn't a
F/E server.

How do you manage to connect to the old server with Outlook? Your
Outlook client should be asking the directory where the mailbox is
located and then connecting to the new server. It sounds like you
might have something misconfigured -- but I'm not the least bit
familar with clusters so I can't tell you what that might be.
