Perry,
Aside from the fact that the Exchange.Admin forum isn't
the right forum for this question...

A little more info would be useful here. Are you using NAT
on your firewall/router to connect to your VPN gateway or
are you using true IP routing?

Remember that PPTP and L2TP both use Cyclic Redundancy
Checks to verify that the packet was received in tact. If
you are using NAT to connect to your VPN gateway, one of
it's innate functions is to do IP address replacement in
the packet header. If you modify that header, the CRC
check fails and the VPN gateway will drop the packet
without notifying or attempting a retransmit.
