Something happened yesterday. After that point, whenever I do a cold
boot or restart, Windows 2000 [version 5 build 2915 service pack 2]
boots fine, goes to the desktop and continues loading and then as a
final step opens explorer and shows: C:\Documents and Settings\All
Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\Programs
in the address area.

There are no start programs that I can find that causes this.

Can someone please tell me how to get the startup to STOP as before at
the desktop.

The only program I changed was to modify Photoshop version 7 to
version 7.0.1
