Exchange2000 backup failure!

| Dear sir/madem,
good afternoon!
recently our corporate are using MS Exchange2000(mail
server)running windows2000 server OS's and currently using
windows2000 server ntbackup.exe to backup all the user
mailbox and exchange2000 database...which under
priv.edb,pub.edb, dir.edb files.
unfortunately, we facing some difficulty to backup all
this important files especially information store, public
folder files....after double check the ntbackup.exe backup
log file we found that it show the files "IN USE and files
SKIPPED, unable to complete the backup tasks"...
would like to check whether the ntbackup.exe able to
backup ONLINE while exchange2000 is running and user
mailbox are OPEN in use..?? or if not probably we able to
use others 3rd party software or utilities like Veritas to
complete this important tasks...??
appreciate somebody feedback asap as we need to make sure
all the user mailbox and exchange DB are 100% safe in this
disaster recovery issue!!
