one server can receive e-mail the other cannot - help pls

| same site , same exchange organisation ,
two servers (server1 - server2 both sp3) .
server1 : can send to internet and to users on server2 , cannot
receive from internet and from users on server 2
server2 : no problems !!! can send and receive from internet
and from users on server 1
mx records are ok
also , public folders are not replicated from server2 to server1
although replication to server1 has been enabled
any ideas ?
