Author Message Tracking Log File Explanation Please..

When I look at an email message which has more than 6 external email
addresses the log file looks something like this..
SMTP Store Driver:Message Submitted from Store
SMTP: Message Submitted to Advance Queuing
SMTP: Started Message Submission to Advance Queue
SMTP: Message Submitted to Categorizer
SMTP: Started Outbound Transfer of Message
SMTP: Started Outbound Transfer of Message
SMTP: Started Outbound Transfer of Message
SMTP: Started Outbound Transfer of Message
SMTP: Started Outbound Transfer of Message
SMTP: Started Outbound Transfer of Message

If the email has less than 6 external emails it looks pretty much the
same apart from the last line, which seems to say it has been sent to
the smart host.

SMTP Store Driver:Message Submitted from Store
SMTP: Message Submitted to Advance Queuing
SMTP: Started Message Submission to Advance Queue
SMTP: Message Submitted to Categorizer
SMTP: Started Outbound Transfer of Message
Message Transferred to wdbc1-smtp1 through SMTP

Does anybody have any ideas why this might be?

Also if I export the log and look at it in excel and look at a
particual email that has 7 or more receipients I get 6-9 sets of the
event id of 1020 and also 1031. It doesnt seem to corespond to the
amount of receipients on the email.

Are there any documents explaining how to read the logs in excel. I
have looked on the ms website and can only find what the id's stand
for.

Thanks
