| Hi, All
Can someone point me to a couple articles that describe, setup procedures on
the following
a) info on how to setup email gateway server , if I understand correctly I
would like to have all inbound emails from the internet forwarded to a
antivirus/content filter server then forward to my backend e2k
database/mailbox server. In this way if a virus out break occurs my users,
internally will not be affect by the slow performance due to email scaning
on the backend server.
b) How do companies setup 2 or more smtp host address, to clarify what I'm
describing. If I type nslookup > set type=mx > Microsoft.com I notice there
is more than 1 mail exchanger record. Are there any good articles on this
type of setup ?
Thanks
Darren

In answer to your first question you could setup and Exchange 2000
Enterprise server and make it a front-end server, this could then be used to
perform all of the virus checking and content checking in your DMZ, look at
www.microsoft.com/exchange for information about front-end back-end servers.
Here is a link to an article about hosting multiple SMTP domains on a single
server:

Hope this helps
