I bought "sql server 2000 design" by sybex to prepare for
exam 70-229. what would be the best way to prepare for
this exam?. Should i directly jump to the practice test or
read every chapter and then go to practice tests?.
However i would like to mention that I do have experience
in sql sever 7/2000 database.

Please advise

Thanks,
Amit

I didn't take this test, but someone I know did. He used only Trancenders to
study for this test and failed. He said there were a lot of admin-type of
questions (one example was troubleshooting permissions on views) on the test
that weren't covered in the Transcender.

Sorry! I defer. Indeed I have some experience in SQL Server 2000 (1+ year)
and also study SQL Server 2000 programming (Rob Viera, Wrox). The final
tool was Trascenders and Books Online. The problem isn't the exams, but the
way you decide to use them. I take this test exams 8 times and always go to
wrong answers to study in Books Online the topics I fail. This was a
wonderful experience and when I was confidence with my results (900+) in all
test exams go for the real one. I pass the exam without problems. Only one
question of the exam sound a little strange to me, but all the rest was a
piece of cake.
