MCSD/MCAD on .NET are there.

| Yes, what I meant was "living in Brazil". You're the first brazilian
MCSD.NET I know of. If there are any others, speak up.
| |
|
| I don't know how many MCADs, but I would estimate based on the messages in
this newsgroup, less than 100 MCADs.

| The problem in Brazil is that getting certified is not a common practice on
the market, because it costs too much.
Usually, who gets certified does it because his company pays.
How much is costing an exam there in R$?

| Hi Paulo!
I'm from Brazil.. :-)
The fee for exams is R$ 215,00 and it is 80% sponsored by Microsoft for
Certified Partners.
We have about 25 MCADS and 10-15 MCSD.NET.
Where are you now?

| I live in Italy from some time...
I was evaluating the possibility to go back to Brazil soon, but I think that
is too risky.
The salaries are too small and there is not vacancies for everybody. I see
some friends of mine that are searching for a job from months and have to go
to work for something around R$ 800,00 because there is no better place.
Where do you live? Is any better at your city?

| I'm from Brazil too.
I believe that we have something about 35-40 MCAD's. I know a friend and I
that hold this certification. He's taking the final test for MCSD.NET
tomorrow, and I'm doing it next monday. I think that we have maybe 10-20
MCSD.NET
Why Microsoft don't show us how many people are certified in each country?

| Good question. That question has been asked many times on this newsgroup,
but Microsoft never responds. I would like to know also.

| I'm in the same situation. I have no compelling reasons to go back to
Brazil, except by my closest friends and family...
Here at Europe the market is not easy, but is not bad at all. Also, in
Italy, there is really a small number of high qualified professionals on
software engineering and development.
Don't know...
I've been outside Brazil from so many time, passing by many places such as
Canada, Israel, US and Germany, and now Italy that I don't even feel like a
Brazilian any more...
I'm sure I don't want to stay at Italy too long... Maybe move to UK or
Australia to see some different cultures and after that I decide about where
to go... :-)

| Paulo,
I hope that someday I'll do what you doing. I'm planning to go to
Australia or New Zealand, but I'm afraid of living away from my relatives
and parents, don't find a cool job or have problems with my English. I know
that I can do absolutely anything very well in software development, but I
don't know how the market is abroad...
Can someone like me get easily a job abroad, in a country like
Australia, New Zealand or in the UK?

| I can't tell you for sure, but I have some ideas about the market:
When I went in other countries (all except Italy) I was going just for
stages and courses. Then I received an offer from a company here in Italy
and decided to come here, so, I arrived here with the job secured. After
some time I decided to change job, so, while working for my old company I
started searching for a new one. After two weeks I found a cool job and
there is where I am today.
Now I decided that I want to move to an English speaking country and I'm
trying to figure out how is the market both on Australia and UK and I can
say that there is a lot of interest for qualified people, but they whant you
to move there prior to give you a job.
It means that you have to find a work permit and money enough to go there,
rent an appartment and live for the time where you will be searching a job.
The work permit is not always difficult. Australia has an imigration program
for skilled professionals, where they evaluate your capacities and market
needs and if you have points enough they give you the visa. UK instead
doesn't have a similar program (as I know), but they give you work permits
if you have or a sponsor there or a company that can provide you work
documentation.
If you have some money to expend, you can try to take a look at the services
provided by Oxygen (www.oxygenonline.co.uk). They have a sponsor and
jobseeking program that looks pretty good.
You have a third option: If you are descendant of a European person you can
get double citzenship. My father is German, and so, I have German citzenship
and I can live in any EU country without special visas or permits.
Help it clearify a bit your ideas.

| Here in the U.S. the economy is doing very bad. Salaries for IT went down
this year and last year. You can't find a job easily anymore. There are many
qualified people losing their jobs. But if you're an enterpreneur, you can
always look to find an opportunity amidst this crisis. I am happy here and
don't want to move to another country.
But I think you should do just that, try Australia or the UK, experience
these countries, then you can decide where you would like to live.

Hi,
I realised that some of you getting into the trap of
OxygenOnline.co.uk.
I was one of their victims. Their site looks promising BUT after you pay
the bond money you will hardly hear anything from them. If you try to
call them they will say that market is down, we are circulating your
resume etc...
I paid the bond money “1 and ½” year ago. I am an MCSD I
haven't received a single Interview from them. I tried to
contact them recently They told me that the scheme I joined ( I
joined for 250 pounds. Now they are charging 345 punds) is now
ceased. They are not even ready to talk me over the phone.
From the other Internet postings I realised that I am not the
only victim of them, there lots of people like me. So don't pay
your hard earned money to some CRIMINALS
Local market in UK is very bad at the moment; you might have
heard that Govt. declared that there is no skill shortage in
UK. So it is difficult for companies to hire a person who
require workpermit.
Regards,
Season
