Author 70-300 Analyzing Bus Req

Anyone taking the 70-300 will have fun. Maybe you will
but, I did not. I failed today. I have my MCSD for V6
and MCAD for .NET. This is the first test I failed.
Furthermore, I failed the 70-300 Beta which was 5 case
studies and 104 questions. The actual test was only 3
case studies and 30 questions.

Look, I am no genius. So no wise remarks please.

Do not feel that bad. I failed the beta too. Right now I'm studying the MS
Press book and I think I know why I failed. I really do not have much
experience with analyzing solutions, envision the solution, MSF, etc.

I plan to study and after everything will be clear enough I'll go and take
the exam. There is no hurry.

Throw that book away. That is the only MS press that
won't help. Just make sure you know entities and
relationships. Even though there are only 2 questions
like that. Not one topic from the book is in the test.

Thanks, but I still feel bad.

There are far better books and information about requirements analysis
than what is covered in that book. Try looking at one or two of the
software engineering books (By Roger Pressman, Ian Somerville, etc).

Remember that the msf is only microsoft's own process model which is
happens to be based on the spiral model. In the real world companies
adapt a number of process models to suit their own business solutions
and needs, the choice of process model used depends on the type of
solution - their is no 'one size fits all'. Having said that, the
spiral model is very well suited to the object oriented approach to
software development.

BTW, my own view is that the msf is an excellent adaptation of the
spiral model.

After I pass 70-300 I plan to study for IBM 486 and then IEEE CSDP.
I have some of the books recommended for those exams but I did not get the
chance and time to study them.

Thank you for your recommendation!

I just received the ExamCram2 book for the 70-300 exam. This one seems to be
better than the MS book.
