| Considering 70-229 is count for MCSD.Net, I would take 70-
229 if I were you.

| Thanks for telling me.
Yes, I noticed 70-229 is on the list of electives for the MCSD.Net. Does
that mean that this exam can give me credit to both the MCSD and MCSD.Net
simultaneously? Or, once I've done 70-229, do I have to choose a different
elective while doing the MCSD.Net?
Regards,
JAC.

Hi JAC,
An exam can count toward more than one certification.

| Does that mean that this exam can give me credit to both the MCSD and
MCSD.Net
simultaneously?
* Yes, it does.
Or, once I've done 70-229, do I have to choose a different elective while
doing the MCSD.Net?
* You don't have to select any other different elective exams for MCSD.Net
once you pass 70-229

|
| Thanks, guys. I'm glad to here that.
Just one thing - the study guides for this exam seem to
cost a lot (the New Riders one does at any rate). Are
there any alternate sources where I can get information?
Is it necessary to have some sort of study guide to pass
the exam?
Regards,
JAC.

| As for me MS Training Kit is very bad book, almost useless. I used ExamCram
bad mostly SQL Server books online.

| Do you think there's anything the study guide might cover
that SQL Server Books Online doesn't? Or is it more
likely to be vice-versa?
Also, do you think a study guide might make things easier
to understand than just reading the Books Online?
Regards,
JAC.

| Study Guide might give you direction in what you should focus more to pass
the exam.
Besides SQL BOL, you might want to join in:
microsoft.public.sqlserver.server and
microsoft.public.sqlserver.programming.
You can learn a lot from those newsgroup, real problem and real solution
(not all of them have solutions though :-) ).

| Hi, Danny
Thanks for your advice. I've gotten the Sybex study guide. Going to the SQL
Server newsgroups sounds like a good idea.
Regards,
JAC.
