I'm an experienced coder, but new MS certification. I just saw that the
..NET MSCD track requires the completion of 5 exams. How many months/years
are allowed to get through them all?

There is no time limit between (or order of) exams you take. You can take
them at any time you think you are ready as long as their are not retired.
And for the MCSD.NET track all current exams will not be retired for at
least next two years.
