I have been experimenting with VB.NET and given the performance that I have
seen
they have good reason..............

Of course I can't tell you my results or M$ would have to Close() us!

The clause states that one must get Microsoft's permission before
publishing. This means one of two things:

1. Microsoft wants to find out first so they can try to rectify the
situation prior to info being released.
2. Microsoft wants to shut up anyone with negative feedback.

If you had really been experimenting (ie, using the .NET architectural
guidelines), rather than hacking, you would see that all .NET languages
perform much better than COM and slightly better than Java. Unless you are
benchmarking against unmanaged C++ code, C code or assembly, you are either
doing something wrong or lying. I will let the reader determine which is the
case.

There are plenty of benchmarks out on .NET and a variety of other products.
If someone truly found something where MS products were doing really bad,
and told MS, it is unlikely they would "Close() them", as the news would
eventually leak out anyway. Censorship brings a lot of ill will.

But, your paranoid conspiracy theory is much more fun. Here is a great site
for you:

It means that Microsoft wants to be involved in any performance testing that
would end up published in a trade journal. This prevents unprofessional and
inaccurate negative information from being dumped into the public domain.

Troll: Oh, no, it could only be because Bill Gates is the devil and is
trying to speed up Armageddon. And, he wants to steal all the cocoa puffs in
the world and pour them into Puget Sound. And, he is going to buy Coca Cola
and lace it with mind control drugs. Today, performance specs; tomorrow, the
world.

LOL

Looks like we both got into troll feeding! ;->

Sorry, this does not make sense. Do you not recall the test showing that
VB4 was quicker than Delphi 2 ?

This isn't a joke. It's worse than "If you are happy with Windows 3.1
running on your hardware you'll be happy with Windows 95 on the same
hardware".

Don't you mean where is Delphi?

Never said it was - I totally understand what you are saying, it just
bought back memories and made me laugh.
