| I can see that I'm missing about 20-30% of the posts because of
RoadRunners sad NNTP service. Any suggestions for a good premium news
service?

Easynews is one. Web interface for downloads of big binaries (NNTP works too
if you don't like that). 35+ days retention on the BIGGEST binary groups
(about 12-15 days via NNTP). About 5 months retention on text groups like
this. $10/6Gb (or per month whichever comes sooner).
Most use it as a secondary source of fills after their ISP's news servers
but some with crap ISPs use it as their only source. I have to use a 3rd
party provider because my ISP is under a UDP [Usenet Death Penalty] for
spam.

Giganews gets almost all the posts and has a free 3 day trial. I'm
happy with them, & you can check it out for yourself at no risk.
Meanwhile, sorry your thread on Trascenders got hijacked. It would
have been nice to have heard more about that than who people liked and
disliked. I was most amused by the guy who did nothing in the thread
but discuss personalities, then claimed that was not was he was in the
group for and quit the thread without saying anything on topic, in
spite of you asking him to real politely! Anyway, I'll hit that
thread now and throw in my two cents.

They're not perfect, for example, Giganews will sometimes get 1 or 2%
more of the posts, but 98% sounds better than what you are geting with
roadrunner, and it's free! msnews.microsoft.com
