Any more feedback on the 70-320 Beta?

| I've got 27 hours left before I take this one. It has sounded so far like
it's a tough one. I would appreciate any further feedback/direction from
those who have already taken it. Thanks, and...

| Just got back from exam, it -was- tough!
My gotcha areas were config files, and settings.
Most of the security issues were straight forward if you know
authentication, encryption.
ADO - must know well.
Web Services, Remoting - more in-depth than "Building XML WEB SERVICES"
book. Error recovery and debugging stressed more on test.
Windows services - deployment
COM+ - there but not a great deal.

| Just got back from exam,
would agree with these comment with the exception of COM+
I felt the COM+/ServicedComponents content was way too biased in the exam,
which beared no relation to their coverage in the prep guide. 30% Exam / 2%
Prep Guide.
How often have you used COM+ Services beyond transaction handling and queing
?
Paul.

| The 320 exam covered ** too ** many areas!
As to the COM+/Serviced Components - I think these are considered viable
technology and will play a role in development for quite some time. There
is a common thread running through these technologies: COM+, Web Services,
and Remoting, and are solutions suited for specific contexts.
I can't say that I have used COM+ for any solution! I have over 18 years
experience in the IT industry, and have my roots in PC development,
PC-Basic, Pascal, and C. But my recent work history has taken me away from
development, so although I have done some Windows development, I have missed
the last six years! Now I am trying to get my hands around the newer
technologies and learn to put them to use.
To add to the stream of consciousness we read in these NGs, I believe that
the exams are a poor way of measuring how well someone can develop or
administer a computer operating system, database, or program solution. But
it is perhaps the best measurement we have, and it is accepted by businesses
as such. Although real world experience is perhaps the best teacher, study
is a close second. In my years developing and solving IT problems, I have
never found that I can solve complex problems from the knowledge in my head.
Even if I have solved similar problems in the past, each problem is set in
its own context, and will therefore have subtle differences in it's
solution.
Please excuse the dissertation,

| Know about Windows Services, Transactions.
Know about culture information.
Know .NET remoting inheritance.
Know about config files.
Know about COM and unmanaged DLLs.
Lots of XML questions.
Lots of debug and trace error, log event questions.

| After a day of rest, I thought I should let everyone know my impression of
this test.
Lots of COM+, .NET Remoting, Web Method Attributes, and ADO.NET. It didn't
seem that hard to me, so either I did really well, or really badly.
Probably not in-between!
Good luck to everyone who has now gone through this nightmare...
