| New to this group. Finally decided to buckle down and get some certs (not
the mints). Looked through a fair bit of posts going back to December. Hope
some of it may help others.
Here's a collation of some things on 70-229:
70-229 - http://www.microsoft.com/traincert/exams/70-229.asp
------
·Transcenders provide value, though Flash option not so much.
·Notable books/sources (though one should not rely on one source) - in
random order:
·REAL WORLD EXPERIENCE
·Professional SQL Server 2000 programming from Wrox (Rob Vieira) - ISBN
1861004486
·Books Online (aka BOL), and MSDN
·SQL Server Magazine (http://www.sqlmag.com/)
·Inside SQL Server 2000 from MS Press (Kalen Delaney) - ISBN 0735609985
·General:
·This is considered one of the harder exams, so be sure you are
comfortable with the material before taking it.
·There may be a lot of questions on T-SQL/SQL and you need to be able to
spot the deliberate syntax errors in the answers in order to disqualify them
from the correct one.
·There are also usually questions on this version XML features, so
studying from SQL 7.0 may not be sufficient.
