Author 70-316 texts

I am in the very beginning of my studying for the MCAD certification cycle.
I am currently working on studying for the 70-316. I see that Microsoft
recommends studying these texts:

-MCAD/MCSD Self-Paced Training Kit: Developing Windows-Based Applications
with Microsoft Visual Basic .NET and Microsoft Visual C# .NET
-Microsoft ADO.NET Step by Step
-Programming Microsoft Windows with C#

I have seen posts that mention that the 70-316 doesn't cover much of "core
c#". Today I purchased "Programming Microsoft Windows with C#", and this
seems to be 1200 pages of pure core c#. For the purpose of studying for the
70-316, do I really need to spend a lot of time on this book?

Thanks in advance.

John

Not too good, although I understand from other posts in this group
that it does contain quite a good practice exam.

>-Microsoft ADO.NET Step by Step

The exam covers quite a lot about ado.net, so make sure you understand
all the classes and when to use them. Don't know if that book covered
all you need to known. Maybe check out the wrox press books.

Quite true.

Petzold's book is good, but does not cover too many of the topics
covered in the exams.
